In a perfectly fantastical world, Ina Garten is our best friend. We share dark (and lighthearted) secrets, divulge our favorite recipes for roasted summer vegetables then cook together in her Long Island kitchen for her husband, Jeffrey, and the entire cast of Mean Girls on Broadway. (Jason Mraz comes too because he’s now a star of the stage.) Before the elaborate meal, which obviously takes place in her outdoor garden, we visit the quaintest flower shops and cheese shops of Amagansett, creating the perfect table-scape for the sunset dinner party we’re about to have that’ll be filled with the warmth of our best friendship.
OK, maybe not. But we can come close by buying tickets to Ina Garten’s upcoming appearance at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. The reigning Food Network queen of all things home cooked and delicious will make an appearance there Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. to promote her new book, cook like a pro.
Notably, Ina (can we call her Ina?) already has 10 New York Times-bestselling cookbooks, so expect this latest iteration to be just as charming and chock full of her signature, easy-to-make gourmet dishes, the ideal mix of comfort food with a twist of East Hampton chic.
At Segerstrom, Ina will be joined by an onstage moderator to share stories of behind-the-scenes moments at her famously filmed Hamptons abode, talk about the making of her Emmy-award-winning TV show, Barefoot Contessa, and probably giggle a lot because she’s fun and optimistic as they come. An audience Q&A will follow. Also, all ticketholders are eligible to get their cookbooks signed and copies of cook like a pro can be purchased in advance here.
